The Maze of Galious is the sequel to Knightmare. It's an arcade adventure. The japanese on the cover says "Galious no Meikyu" which actually means "The Maze of Galious". Thanks to Patriek Lesparre for translating it.
When the noble Popolon returned from Mount Atos with Aphrodite, they arrived at the castle noticing it was taken over by the evil priest Galious. Not only did he take the castle, but he has taken the yet unborn baby Pampas hostage from Popolon & Aphrodite.
The game starts within the walls of Castle Greek. Popolon & Aphrodite need to reconquer each of the 10 worlds of which the entrances are scattered around the castle. Each world can be opened by the Great Key found in the previous world. The Great Key of World 1 is somewhere hidden in the castle (try breaking all stones in the screen right to the starting point).

Within the castle and the various worlds, there are shrines where one of the greek gods are able to help you solve riddles and aid you with selling items you can't find. There are 6 of them participating:
 | Hephaestus, The smith god He sells weapons |
 | Asclepius, The god of medicine He looks after Popolon & Aphrodite's health |
 | Demeter, The goddess of harvest She keeps up with your progress in the game |
 | Ares, The god of soldiers He sells items that protect you from enemy hits and stuff |
 | Athena, The goddess of knowledge She helps us solve riddles |
 | Death, The god of death He can help when either Popolon or Aphrodite have been killed |
Weapons that can be found or bought:
 | Arrow |
 | The ceramic arrow will shoot through enemies. Because of this it's slower than the arrow |
 | The rolling fire rotates arround the floor either Popolon or Aphrodite is standing on when firing one |
 | Fire will fall down to the floor below when the floor it's going over ends |
 | Put a mine on the floor and move away from it. Don't step on it yourself as it can do you much harm |
 | In all of the worlds, tombstones can be found. On one of them the spell is engraved to summon the great demon of that world. Use the magnifying glass to read the spell |
Items that can be found in the worlds (once per world):
 | You can kill the Great Demon twice as fast now. The number of shots needed is halved with this Holy Water |
 | When you are hit by a Great Demon's attack, you will get half the damage with the Cape |
 | Don't worry about running out of ammo while battling the Great Demon. The number of shots will not decrease during this battle with the Magical Rod |
 | When you press <F1> you'll see the world map in the lower-left corner. Your present location will blink red |
 | This Great Key is needed to open the door to the next world. It will appear when the Great Demon of the world is gone |
Items that can be found in the castle or worlds:
 | The Cross has a vital role in this game. You need it to defeat Galious by shooting him on the cross with either arrows, ceramic arrows or rolling fire |
 | With the triangle you will be resistant to enemy vapor. Those are white clouds found scattered in the castle and which can't be harmed |
 | With the crown you will be resistant to enemy uh. These are the white ladies in world 2 |
 | With the helm you will be resistant to enemy ectoplasm. Those are the flying white things which can be found in world 1 for example |
 | The oar is used to walk over some water in world 5. It can be bought at the shrine in world 5 |
 | The lamp shows the location of the Great Demon will blink blue on the world map |
 | The decorative doll can be found in world 2 to open the bridge over the water in world 2 |
 | The robe will cause you to walk the right direction in world 8 |
 | The bell will sound when you near the entrance to the world for the Great Key you are currently holding |
 | The halo will take you to the god of saving no matter where you are. Press <F1> and press <RETURN>. It will not work when you are battling versus the Great Demon |
 | The candle will make some walls in world 5 visible |
 | The armor will protect you from bamboo shoots. These are the green coned things scattered around the castle |
 | The carpet is sold at the shrine in world 8 and causes the lava to turn into stone in that world |
 | With the helmet you won't loose vitality so fast |
 | The harp will crush all stones in a screen when you play it with your sword |
 | The vase doubles the experience you gain. In the left tower go one down from the screen where you can find the shrine with the Necklace. Defeat World 4 Great Demon, first thing you need to do is 3 swords right, 3 swords left and jump 3 times or you need to re-enter the screen and do it again |
 | The necklace allows Popolon to enter world 7 |
 | The bread and water allow Aphrodite to pass through revolving doors |
 | The pendant allows Aphrodite to hit the wall to make i.e. the doll appear |
 | The ring allows Aphrodite to crush a stone with 3 hits in stead of 15 |
 | The earrings allow Popolon to shoot 3 arrows simultaneously |
 | The bible will freeze all enemies in the current screen when you press <CTRL>. This can be done up to 16 times |
 | The bracelet allows Popolon to put 3 mines |
 | The trumpet shell allows Aphrodite to enter world 5 |
 | The pitcher protects you from some fireballs |
 | The sabre doubles the damage you give the enemy. Defeat World 6 Great Demon, from the screen with the world 7 entrance, move 1 screen left, 2 screens left, kill the bats in the screen |
 | With the dagger you can rid the screen of all bats by typing UMBRELLA. From the Vase go 3 screens to the right. You need to move in the following sequence when you are on the elevator: Right, Down, Left, Up |
 | The feather allows you to get to a world entrance fast by pressing <1> to <9> after pressing <F1>. The world must be open |
 | The death shrine can only be entered if you have purified yourself with salt |
 | The shoes make you walk faster |
 | The bronze shield blocks shots from minor demons |
 | The silver shield blocks shots from minor and middle demons. You need the bronze shield to be able to get the silver shield |
 | The gold shield blocks shots from all demons (except Galious). You need the silver shield to be able to get the gold shield |

To defeat Galious with the mine, you need to put it one floor beneath him and step on it yourself. You will lose life, but when you use both Popolon and Aphrodite alternately, it is possible.
Some world-related tips:

| World 5 | The stairs to the shrine will appear when you destroy all maggots near the entry. The rightmost black ball of yarn opens the way to the Great Demon |
| World 6 | When lowering to the depths of the world, you meet up with two rock-men you need to destroy to open the left section of the world. You need to beat the west most pacmans to open the stairs to the Great Demon |
| World 7 | In the left-most screen of this world you need to defeat all bats to open up the wall above. Destroy the plant in the screen above the Great Demon to release the stairs |
| World 8 | The stairs to the shrine will appear when you defeat all the fires in the screen with the engraved tombstone and the fires below the shrine entry screen. When lowering to the depths of this world, you meet up with 4 crystal birds you need to destroy to open up the way to the right part of the world. A cyclop covers the entry to the Great Demon of this world |
| World 9 | A quick way to the Great Demon is to destroy the bats in the screen right to the world entrance. A stairway will appear that leads up to the shortcut |
| World 10 | This world is always located in one of the four predefined locations in the castle: close to the entrance to world 9 (one screen down and one screen to the right, when the bell tolls...), the rightmost screen in the right tower, close to the entrance of world 8 (one screen to the left, two screens down and one screen to the left, when the bell tolls...) or the screen when the game starts (entrance to god of saving, two screens down, when the bell tolls...) |
When you return to the castle from a world when hurting, you can walk through all enemies until the Halo or Feather, a Key or enter a Shrine or World is used. Example: Enter world 2, place a mine on top of the ladder, go down the ladder until the mine activates and then touch the mine. When you get hit you're temporarilly invulnerable and when you return to the castle in that state, it doesn't get reset until one of the previously mentioned things are done.
- The Maze of Galious Cheat 1: The <F2> password is permanently active and the bible can be used over and over again (at least when you have taken posession of it).
- The Maze of Galious Cheat 2: The numeric keyboard keys 2, 4, 6 and 8 will put either Popolon or Aphrodite at the bottom, left, right or top of the screen.
- The Maze of Galious Cheat 3: Popolon and Aphrodite will be invulnerable most enemies.
